Prep girls soccer Warriors season ends in OT state tourney loss to Silas

Silas Rams triumphed over Edmond-Woodway Warriors 1-0 in overtime, eliminating the Warriors from the WIAA 3A State Girls Soccer Tournament on Wednesday. Lauren Meade delivered the game-winning goal shortly into extra time, securing Silas's advancement to the round-of-16. Coach Kim Plumis expressed disappointment over her team's missed opportunities, emphasizing the emotional weight of the loss. The match remained scoreless after 80 minutes of regulation, where both teams created several scoring chances. Notably, the Warriors had a strong opportunity in the 33rd minute, which was thwarted by Rams' goalkeeper Natalie Medalia.

The defeat ended Edmond-Woodway's season, their first trip to the state tournament since 2018, with a record of 12-5-3. Plumis encouraged her players to cherish the bonds they formed throughout the season despite the heartache. The Rams will next face No. 2 seed Mt. Spokane on Friday, Nov.
