Council to receive presentations on paid parking, BO tax at Nov. 18 meeting

The Edmonds City Council will hold remote meetings on November 18, beginning with Committee B at 3 p. m. and the Committee of the Whole at 6 p. m. The 6 p.

m. session will focus on selecting a student council representative, a role unfilled for several years, and will consider a proposed 2026 cost of living increase for non-represented employees. Presentations from the Economic Development Commission will introduce two potential revenue sources: paid parking and a business and occupation tax. The earlier meeting at 3 p. m.

includes three items from the Edmonds Police Department, such as a contract with Arlington Airport and interlocal agreements with the Snohomish County Regional Drug Task Force and Emergency Management Services. The council will also renew an interlocal agreement with the Snohomish Conservation District. Public participation is facilitated through Zoom or a monitor available in the City Council conference room at City Hall. These discussions are vital for community engagement and the city’s financial future.

The film explores a Black teenager's mental health journey as he confronts his trauma and insecurities, followed by a Q&A session with producers and mental health advocates.
