Food, sock drive for veterans Nov. 15 in downtown Edmonds

Edmonds American Legion Post 66 and VFW Post 8870 will host a food and sock drive on November 15 from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. at the Wilcox Construction Red Barn to aid local veterans.

The event will collect non-perishable food, new socks, and underwear to support veterans and the Lynnwood Hygiene Center. Both posts will also accept cash and credit card donations, with checks payable to "American Legion Food Drive. " Post Commander Dan Mullene highlighted the urgent need for community support due to the rising number of veterans requiring assistance, particularly with uncertainties surrounding the SNAP program. Last year’s drives brought in significant donations, demonstrating strong local engagement. Additionally, the Posts will accept used American flags for retirement.
