Little Angels Learning Center Cuts Ribbon On 5.7 Million Building To Educate Englewoods Children

Chicago, ILLocal News

Little Angels Learning Center inaugurated its new $5. 7 million facility in Englewood with plans to serve 140-150 children, nearly triple its current enrollment. Executive director Nashone Greer-Adams, who has a long history of serving the community, emphasized the center's focus on social, emotional, and academic support for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. The new building includes classrooms equipped with bathrooms, therapeutic spaces for children experiencing trauma, and areas for family engagement. After facing years of funding cuts and operational challenges, the center secured a $250,000 grant in 2023, contributing to the successful completion of the project.

Greer-Adams noted that it took nearly eight years to bring the center to fruition, overcoming a $2 million construction gap. The center aims to transition programs into the new building within the next 18-24 months for a smooth start. Greer-Adams described the center as “a home away from home,” highlighting its importance to the community. The project reflects ongoing efforts to enhance early learning access on Chicago's South Side.
