Two people sentenced in connection to fatal shooting in Mount Vernon

Two individuals were sentenced in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old man in Mount Vernon on March 17. Jesus Angel, 17, pled guilty to second-degree murder and received a ten-year prison sentence. Robert Lozano, 23, was sentenced to four and a half years for unlawful firearm possession and rendering criminal assistance. The shooting took place near a gas station across from Skagit Valley College, where the victim was later taken to Harborview Medical Center and died from his injuries. This incident underscores the growing issue of gun violence among youth in Washington state.
