Lenny Wilkens, a legendary figure in Seattle basketball, passed away yesterday at 88. A three-time Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, Wilkens made nine All-Star games and coached the Sonics to an NBA title in 1979. The Seahawks dominated their game against the Arizona Cardinals, winning 44-22 for their fourth consecutive victory, setting up a crucial showdown with the Rams next week. Jaxon Smith-Njigba's touchdown marked a milestone, making him the first Seahawks receiver to reach 1,000 yards this season. In high school sports, Blaine's girls soccer team celebrated a significant achievement, reaching the state tournament for the first time in 22 years after a win against Nooksack Valley.

The Lynden girls soccer team, however, saw their season end with a loss to Selah. Additionally, six Whatcom County high school football teams advanced to the state tournament following the Week 10 play-in round. Lynden Heritage Museum suffers minimal damage following interior fire

A small fire at the Lynden Heritage Museum caused minimal damage over the weekend. The fire, ignited by a malfunctioning paper shredder, resulted in smoke and soot spreading throughout the building but left an estimated $3,000 in damage. The museum remains closed for cleanup until Wednesday.
