Free gun lockbox giveaway coming to Auburn City Hall on Friday, June 6

Public Health — Seattle & King County and the City of Auburn will hold a free gun lockbox giveaway on June 6, 2025, from 4 to 5:30 p. m. at Auburn City Hall Plaza. The initiative aims to promote safe firearm storage practices, which can significantly reduce the risks of accidental injuries, suicides, and gun thefts. Attendees will receive free lockboxes on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

A brief program with a live demonstration on the proper use of lockboxes will precede the giveaway. Organizers emphasize that safe storage saves lives, with a representative from Public Health stating, "These lockboxes are one simple but effective way to help prevent tragedies.
