Steve Huff, a trailblazing racer and custom bike builder, passed away on May 21, 2025, at age 58 after a courageous battle with cancer. Over his 30-year career, Huff set more than 20 national and world speed records, notably becoming the first to design and drive a 200 mph electric dragster in 2020. Despite his cancer diagnosis in 2020, he described 2022 as his best year, celebrating his first National Championship in hydroplane racing. Huff actively participated in community outreach, focusing on mentorship for young people with alternative learning styles, and inspired many to pursue their dreams. His contributions to motorsports earned him a day of recognition in SeaTac, where he spent over 20 years building his racing teams.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a memorial foundation aimed at establishing scholarships. A celebration of his life is forthcoming, inviting the community to share their memories. Huff’s legacy as a pioneer in electric drag racing and a mentor will endure in the hearts of those he touched.
