Washington state recognizes four Auburn Schools for Outstanding Achievement

Auburn, WALocal News

Washington state has honored four schools in the Auburn School District for outstanding achievement as part of the 2023-24 Washington School Recognition Program. Alpac, Bowman Creek, and Evergreen Heights Elementary were recognized for demonstrating growth, while Lea Hill Elementary earned accolades for effective gap-closing strategies. This recognition highlights the hard work and commitment of students and staff within these institutions. The WSRP aims to showcase schools that exhibit exceptional progress in key areas of student success, with only 16% of schools in the state receiving this recognition this year. All public schools in Washington are eligible for this honor, emphasizing the program's inclusive nature.

The initiative is jointly operated by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, State Board of Education, and the Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee. Recognition in such programs can lead to increased funding and support for schools. For additional details, interested parties can visit the State Board’s official website.
