Auburn woman arrested for investigation of Vehicular Homicide after crash kills her 12-year-old son

On April 27, 2025, a 38-year-old Auburn woman was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide after a crash that killed her 12-year-old son. The incident occurred around 1:43 a. m. when she lost control of her 2018 Mercedes, leading to a significant impact that caused the vehicle to launch into the air. First responders discovered her attempting CPR on her son, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators found an empty vodka bottle, and the woman reportedly smelled of alcohol, admitting to prior drinking. Although she claimed a girlfriend of her son was driving, physical evidence contradicted her statement. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment, where a blood draw was conducted under a search warrant, with results pending. The suspect was booked into King County Jail, and prosecutors stated that they anticipate receiving a felony case referral soon. This case highlights the dangers of impaired driving and its tragic consequences.
