Registration now open for free disaster preparedness CERT course, which starts May 13

Auburn is now accepting registrations for its free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course, which starts on May 13, 2025. The 24-hour program features Tuesday evening classes and two Saturday sessions focused on practical exercises. Participants will gain critical skills in fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations. The city emphasizes the importance of community preparedness, urging residents to take on active roles in emergencies with the tagline, “Want to be the calm in the chaos? ” CERT training empowers everyday citizens to assist themselves and their neighbors before professional responders arrive.
