Volunteers needed for Auburns Clean Sweep event on Saturday, April 26

The City of Auburn is excited to announce its annual Clean Sweep event, taking place on Saturday, April 26, from 9 a. m. to noon, in celebration of Earth Day. This community-wide initiative aims to engage residents, families, businesses, and service groups in beautifying local parks, trails, and public spaces. Volunteers can choose from various tasks, including landscaping, planting, weeding, and litter pick-up, but must register by April 23 to participate.

An optional welcome breakfast will be available from 7:30 to 8:30 a. m. at the Auburn Community & Events Center to kick off the day. Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves and tools, and wearing matching group clothing is also suggested. Volunteers will receive details about their assigned locations via email before the event, ensuring a smooth experience.

The city emphasizes the importance of community involvement in enhancing Auburn’s public spaces and expresses sincere appreciation for volunteer efforts. Such initiatives not only beautify the environment but also foster a sense of community and environmental responsibility among residents.
