The City of Auburn has announced Julie Krueger as the new Director of the Parks, Arts, and Recreation department, taking over from the long-serving Daryl Faber. Mayor Nancy Backus highlighted Krueger's enthusiasm and deep-rooted connection to the community, anticipating her contributions to the executive leadership team. With a history at the City of Auburn dating back to 2006, Krueger has excelled as the Arts and Events Manager, overseeing successful events like Petpalooza and the 4th of July Festival. Her leadership was instrumental in the development of the Auburn Community & Events Center and the Postmark Center for the Arts, which recently opened. Additionally, she is currently engaged in two significant projects—the downtown Auburn Avenue Theater and a new downtown park, both set to begin construction soon.

Krueger expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to give back to her community in this new role. The city's leadership is optimistic that her ideas and energy will greatly benefit Auburn residents. This leadership change marks a new chapter for the Parks, Arts, and Recreation department, promising continued community engagement and development.
