An Amtrak train collided with a semi-truck stuck on the tracks in Auburn, Washington, on Saturday morning at approximately 10:18 a. m. The truck, which had made a wrong turn, became immobilized at the intersection of 29th Street NW and B Street NW. Fortunately, both the driver and a passenger were able to exit the vehicle safely before the southbound train struck the truck, which was carrying no cargo. The train was carrying 157 passengers, all of whom were unharmed during the incident.

The collision resulted in a temporary closure of the southbound lane of B Street NW and delays of around 60 minutes for Amtrak services between Seattle and Tacoma. Local authorities, along with Amtrak crews, are actively working to clear the area and restore regular train operations. This incident highlights the importance of clear signage and caution at railroad crossings to prevent similar occurrences. Overall, the quick actions of the truck occupants likely prevented a more severe outcome.
