On December 17, 2024, the South Sound Chambers of Commerce Legislative Coalition (SSCCLC) held its annual Legislative Breakfast at Dave & Buster’s in Auburn, uniting leaders to address pressing regional issues. The coalition represents over 3,262 businesses and aims to advocate for policies that enhance economic vitality and job creation in South King and North Pierce counties. Key topics included workforce development, with Samantha Le emphasizing the need to connect education with high-demand careers. The urgency of housing affordability was highlighted by Kacia Bray, who noted Washington's requirement for over a million new homes in the next two decades. Public safety also emerged as a central concern, with Diane Dobson calling for increased funding for law enforcement and mental health services.

Transportation issues were addressed, with calls for enhanced ferry services to improve regional connectivity. The event underscored the importance of small businesses as the backbone of the economy and concluded with a call to action for attendees to engage with local chambers. This Legislative Breakfast marked a significant kickoff for the advocacy season in the South Sound region.
