VIDEO Auburn Police use drone to safely arrest multiple robbery suspects

Auburn, WALocal News

Four suspects were arrested by Auburn Police following an armed robbery on October 15. The robbery occurred on 31st Street SE, where the suspects threatened a man with a firearm. Police tracked the suspects to a trailer on 102nd Ave SE, employing drone technology to monitor the scene from a safe distance. The drone revealed two suspects leaving the trailer without weapons, while a third suspect attempted to hide. Officers then called the suspects out instead of approaching directly, ensuring safety during the operation.

One suspect had been taken into custody prior to the drone surveillance, making a total of four arrests. The Auburn Police Department highlighted the effectiveness of drone technology as a tool for officer safety and incident resolution. This incident underscores the growing role of technology in law enforcement practices.
