Both directions of C Street SW bridge on SR 18 in Auburn to close this weekend

This weekend, SR 18 will fully close in both directions for expansion joint replacement on the C Street SW bridge in Auburn. The project, managed by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), begins at 9 p. m. Friday, Oct. 3, and concludes at 5 a.

m. Monday, Oct. 6. During the first phase, all eastbound lanes will close, and drivers must exit onto C Street Southwest, following detours to the Auburn Way South on-ramp. The second phase involves a complete westbound closure, requiring vehicles to exit at Auburn Way South.

The final phase will reduce westbound lanes while reopening the left lane. Police will be present to direct traffic, and significant delays are anticipated, particularly during busy travel periods. This work is part of a larger project to repave a 3-mile stretch of SR 18. Real-time traffic updates are available through the WSDOT mobile app.
