VRFA Blotter Bridge strike, vehicle fire, industrial accident, childbirth more

Auburn, WALocal News

Between September 22 and September 28, 2025, the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) addressed numerous emergency calls in the Auburn region. A significant incident involved a bridge strike when a commercial roll-off truck hit the underside of Highway 167, injuring the driver and prompting inspections by state authorities. On September 25, VRFA responded to an industrial accident where a worker was struck by a large steel beam, necessitating immediate medical attention. Firefighters also managed a vehicle fire in Lakeland Hills, which was caused by oil leaking onto a hot engine but thankfully did not result in an active fire. A childbirth on September 27 required swift action as VRFA transported an expectant mother to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center, where she delivered a baby boy.

The week concluded with a serious motorcycle accident in Auburn, where the rider sustained major injuries. These events underscore the critical role of emergency services in responding to diverse incidents and ensuring community safety. The VRFA continues to demonstrate its commitment to public health and safety through timely and effective responses.
