Weekend series of SR 18 closures begin this Friday, Sept. 26 in Auburn

Lane and ramp closures on westbound SR 18 in Auburn will begin at 9 p. m. Friday, Sept. 26, to facilitate repairs on the C Street Southwest bridge. The right lane will close until 1 a.

m. Sunday, and the Auburn Way South/SR 164 on-ramp will also be closed, with a detour in place. The second stage will see all westbound lanes closed from 2 a. m. Sunday until 5 a.

m. Monday, necessitating an exit for all westbound vehicles at Auburn Way South/SR 164. Despite the westbound closures, eastbound SR 18 will remain open, though delays are expected. Further closures for eastbound SR 18 are scheduled from 9 p. m.

Oct. 3 to 5 a. m. Oct. 6 for similar maintenance work.

The Washington State Department of Transportation emphasizes the need for dry weather to carry out these repairs, which may be rescheduled if rain is forecast.
