Weekend series of SR 18 closures begin Friday, Sept. 26 in Auburn

A series of lane and ramp closures will affect westbound SR 18 in Auburn from 9 p. m. on Sept. 26 through 5 a. m.

on Sept. 29 due to bridge joint repairs by the Washington State Department of Transportation. The first stage of closures will see the right lane shut between M Street Southeast and C Street Southwest, along with the Auburn Way South/SR 164 on-ramp. A signed detour will direct motorists to the Third Street Southwest on-ramp during this stage. The second closure phase will occur from 2 a.

m. on Sept. 28 to 5 a. m. on Sept.

29, requiring all westbound traffic to exit at Auburn Way South/SR 164. Police officers will assist in managing traffic flow at the intersections. Eastbound SR 18 will also face closures from 9 p. m. on Oct.

3 to 5 a. m. on Oct. 6 for similar repairs. These closures aim to enhance roadway safety and performance.

Drivers are advised to check real-time travel information via the WSDOT mobile app or website.
