Filipino Fiesta at Neely Mansion on Saturday, Aug. 23 will celebrate culture and community

The Neely Mansion Association will host a free Filipino Fiesta on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, from 1 to 4 p. m. in Auburn, celebrating Filipino culture through music, dance, and food. The event will be emceed by Bert Caoili, featuring performances from Maricres Castro, Tacoma’s Commissioner for Immigrant & Refugee Affairs, and the Filipiniana Multicultural Dance Troupe.

Attendees can explore cultural exhibits, including a Filipino fashion display and guided tours of the mansion's grounds, which showcase vintage farm equipment. Notably, the Acosta Shed, built by Filipino immigrant Pedro “Pete” Acosta, will display historical tools and a wine barrel used for making wine from homegrown grapes. Box lunches with Filipino dishes will be offered while supplies last, enhancing the cultural experience. The Neely Mansion Association emphasizes that the fiesta is open to all, aiming to foster community unity. This event highlights the growing multicultural landscape of Auburn, welcoming diverse participation.
