Victim of Mondays fatal crash on A Street SE in Auburn has been identified

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office identified Jean A. McLaughlin, 64, as the victim of a fatal crash in Auburn on June 30. The collision happened at the intersection of A Street SE and 17th Street SE when a 28-year-old female driver ran a red light. McLaughlin died from multiple blunt force injuries, pronounced dead at the scene after the crash occurred around 12:20 p. m.

The other driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. Auburn Police determined speed was a contributing factor, and the investigation is ongoing without any charges filed thus far. Witnesses described the chaotic scene, prompting police to review surveillance footage and witness statements.
