Truck driver takes out electrical lines on Clearbrook Road Abbotsford police

Vancouver, BCLocal News

Clearbrook Road in Abbotsford was closed in both directions after a commercial truck knocked down multiple electrical lines. The Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) responded to the incident around 5 p. m. and reported that emergency crews were on the scene. The oversized truck, which was carrying a load covered in orange tarps, caused significant disruption by taking out numerous communications lines.

AbbyPD clarified that this truck is different from one involved in a separate overpass strike in Chilliwack earlier that day, although both trucks belong to the same shipper. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the road remained closed as of 8:20 p. m. The Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement team was also present at the scene to assist. There is currently no estimated time for when Clearbrook Road will reopen, highlighting the ongoing impact of the incident on local traffic.
