IHIT investigating Chilliwack womans death after suspicious occurrence

Homicide investigators are probing the death of Chantelle Ruhl, 37, found dead in Chilliwack on Monday morning. The Chilliwack RCMP responded to a suspicious occurrence on Vedder Road, leading to the discovery of her body. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team confirmed her death as a homicide and closed off the area for several hours. Ruhl, a Chilliwack resident without a fixed address, was known to frequent the area. The IHIT seeks to establish a timeline of her movements from April 16 to April 21, 2025, and believes that individuals may have crucial information.

Sgt. Freda Fong highlighted the necessity of public cooperation for the investigation's progress. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant details or dashcam footage to reach out to the IHIT Information Line. The case underscores ongoing concerns about community safety and the need for vigilance in the area.
