Police investigating after taxi driver assaulted in Maple Ridge

The RCMP is investigating an unprovoked assault on a taxi driver in Maple Ridge that occurred on September 17. The incident unfolded when the driver picked up the suspect, who then demanded to stop and began assaulting him, resulting in facial injuries and significant damage to the taxi. Despite the swift response of police dogs and air services, they could not locate the suspect. Authorities released images of the suspect, described as a stocky man in his mid-to-late 50s wearing a dark T-shirt. Insp.

Martin Guay emphasized the seriousness of the attack, labeling it an assault on an innocent victim in broad daylight. The incident raised concerns in the community, prompting police to seek public assistance in identifying the suspect.
