Prime conspirator arrested for shootings at Kaps Caf in B.C., Indian police say

Delhi police arrested Bandhu Maan Singh Sekhon, identified as the "prime conspirator" behind a series of shootings at Kap’s Café in Surrey, British Columbia. Sekhon, 28, fled Canada after a crackdown on his associates led to multiple arrests. He allegedly confessed to his role in three shootings at the café owned by Indian comedian Kapil Sharma, which occurred on July 10, August 7, and October 16. The police statement claims Sekhon was responsible for planning and providing logistical support for the attacks, while two other men acted as shooters. His capture is a significant setback for organized crime syndicates, as he is also wanted in an international arms trafficking case.

Federal Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree acknowledged the arrest during a meeting in Surrey, where authorities discussed extortion issues plaguing the region. The B. C. RCMP is currently investigating potential links between Sekhon and other criminal activities in the Lower Mainland, where 90 extortion-related investigations are ongoing. The provincial government has allocated $1 million to support police efforts in assisting extortion victims.
