Eby expressed disappointment over the federal and Alberta governments' decision to proceed without B. C.

's involvement in the discussions. The MOU also stipulates that Ottawa may adjust the West Coast tanker ban if the pipeline is approved as a project of national interest under the Building Canada Act. This development raises significant concerns about environmental impacts and Indigenous rights. The situation highlights ongoing tensions between provincial and federal governments regarding resource development in Canada.
