2026 Fees and Charges

Vancouver, BCLocal News

The Vancouver Park Board's fee increases for 2026 aim to address rising costs while maintaining service affordability. These changes are anticipated to generate an additional $1. 9 million in revenue, impacting services like golf courses and local attractions. Commissioners have requested that the Council maintain zero percent increases for recreation passes and permits in light of budgetary constraints. The Parks & Recreation Operating Budget totals $192 million, with half sourced from tax-based funds.

This budget complies with the Council's directive to prevent property tax increases. Additionally, the board seeks one-time funding for Urban Forestry initiatives and park maintenance to improve service delivery. The approved Capital Budget of $202 million supports the completion of existing projects under the 2023-2026 Capital Plan. The Park Board's budget will now undergo consideration by Vancouver City Council for final approval.
