Langley RCMP investigates a hit-and-run incident involving an unmarked Abbotsford Police vehicle that occurred shortly before 7:30 p. m. on Friday. Officers responded to reports of a collision at 264th Street near 52nd Avenue, where an on-duty Abbotsford officer collided with a white GMC Canyon pickup truck. The occupants of the truck fled on foot after the crash, prompting police to enlist the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) for assistance.

"The investigation is in its infancy and ongoing," said RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Brett Urano, emphasizing the need for public help. The officer sustained minor injuries, and authorities urge anyone with dash cam footage or information to contact them at 604-532-3200. Hit-and-run incidents pose significant challenges for law enforcement, complicating the identification and apprehension of suspects. This case underscores the importance of community cooperation in solving such crimes.

The investigation continues as police work to gather evidence and identify the truck's occupants.
