Toronto man works overtime to shut down suspected fraudsters

Vancouver, BCLocal News

Armin Zamani, a 29-year-old member of the Canadian Armed Forces, actively investigates investment fraud in his spare time. He recently encountered Revivo Capitol, a fraudulent cryptocurrency platform that contacted him via email and phone, falsely claiming he had an account. After discovering the platform was flagged by Canadian regulators, Zamani spent around 15 hours tracing its web presence using free online tools. His efforts led to the removal of several fraudulent websites, although the company repeatedly resurfaced online. Zamani's actions reflect a broader issue in Canada, where investment scams result in significant financial losses for thousands of individuals each year.

He emphasized the importance of protecting vulnerable populations targeted by such scams. Zamani's commitment to serving the public is inspired by his family's immigrant background and desire to give back to the community. His work serves as a reminder of the ongoing threat posed by cyber fraudsters and the need for vigilance among potential investors.
