Ridge Meadows RCMP investigates three-vehicle crash

Martin Hak, a 47-year-old coach for the Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey Association, died following a three-vehicle accident in Maple Ridge. The crash occurred at approximately 5:35 p. m. on Sunday on 128th Avenue, where emergency personnel were unable to revive him despite life-saving measures. Two individuals from another vehicle were transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition.

An online fundraiser in Hak's name has raised $28,000, aiming for a total of $50,000 to support his family. In a statement, Hak's wife expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support during this difficult time. The Ridge Meadows RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit is conducting the investigation into the crash, with details expected to be released as they become available. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact them. Local communities are rallying around Hak's family, highlighting the impact of his loss.
