Vigil, roundtable, march to be held after Abbotsford man gunned down

Vancouver, BCLocal News

A vigil and community roundtable will take place in Abbotsford to honor Darshan Sahsi, who was fatally shot outside his home. His son, Navi Sahsi, expressed devastation and called for increased police authority to combat rising crime. Frustrated with the current level of public safety, he stated, “We can’t protect ourselves. ” The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is leading the investigation and has confirmed the shooting was a targeted attack, with a suspect vehicle identified as a silver Toyota Corolla. As of November 3, Surrey Police Service reported 81 extortion-related calls this year, with 42 involving shots fired.

Navi Sahsi believes his father's death is not linked to extortion, suggesting jealousy or political motivations instead. The family is prepared to seek safety elsewhere if conditions do not improve. The vigil is set for Saturday at 3 p. m. at Taj Park Convention Centre, inviting community support and solidarity.
