Vancouver encourages residents to share their thoughts on draft plans for local Villages until December 12, 2025. The proposals aim to create vibrant community hubs with a variety of housing options, local businesses, and improved public spaces within walking distance. Residents can engage through an online survey, in-person or virtual open houses, and a mailing list. Initial public engagement in November 2024 helped inform the draft directions, which prioritize adding housing, supporting local retail, and enhancing public spaces. A draft Villages Plan is expected to be presented to the City Council in 2026 for approval.

This initiative is part of the broader Vancouver Plan, which envisions complete neighborhoods and aims to implement city-wide land use policies. The City has identified 17 areas for development, with the goal of increasing housing options and fostering local economies. Feedback from this engagement phase will be crucial for shaping the final plans.
