The Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project marked a major achievement with the connection of the final segments on October 30, 2025. Workers have finished installing steel, deck panels, and stay cables, paving the way for the final touches on the bridge. At a total cost of $1. 6 billion, the new bridge will enhance transportation between Surrey and New Westminster with wider lanes and improved walking and cycling paths. The Ministry of Transportation announced that this replacement bridge will include a center median barrier for added safety.

The original opening date was set for 2023, but delays have pushed it to Christmas 2025. Since construction began in 2021, the project has been a priority for local officials aiming to upgrade infrastructure. This new bridge is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and promote safer travel for all users. The Pattullo Bridge project represents a significant financial commitment to local transportation needs, illustrating the government’s focus on enhancing community connectivity.
