Metro Vancouver weather Several storms to bring wind and heavy rainfall this week

Vancouver, BCLocal News

Metro Vancouver will experience a series of storm systems this week, starting with continuous rain on Tuesday, October 28, according to Environment Canada. Meteorologist Derek Lee forecasts rainfall totals between 15 and 25 mm, with winds reaching 30 km/h and gusts up to 50 km/h. Wednesday's forecast indicates a 30% chance of showers, while Thursday could offer a brief respite with some sun and clouds. However, a second Pacific system is expected to bring more rain and wind into the weekend, with Saturday's totals predicted between 20 and 40 mm. Lee noted that trick-or-treaters on Halloween may be spared from downpours, as the rain is likely to linger afterward.

The region has not yet reached the threshold for a rainfall warning, which requires at least 50 mm. As November approaches, the weather forecast suggests warmer and wetter conditions than average. Although a slight break from storms may be on the horizon, long stretches of sunshine remain unlikely.
