'Scary forecast' for Metro Vancouver Rainstorm expected for Halloween

Vancouver, BCLocal News

Metro Vancouver braces for a heavy rainstorm on Halloween, with forecasts indicating up to 50 mm of rain. Environment Canada meteorologist Catherine Aubry advises families to prepare for wet conditions while trick-or-treating. The beginning of the week will see a moderate upper low delivering showers on Monday, but nothing compared to the anticipated rain later in the week. A frontal system on Tuesday is expected to bring up to 20 mm of rain, accompanied by gusty winds reaching 70 km/h in southern areas. Wednesday and Thursday will provide a brief respite with clearer skies and temperatures around 11 to 12°C.

However, the forecast for Halloween predicts heavy rain throughout the day, with models indicating varying moisture levels. Aubry highlights that while the rain will be the primary concern, wind gusts will add to the challenging conditions. This weather pattern reflects typical late October conditions in the region, with stable temperatures maintained by cloud cover.
