Police investigate assault, robbery in New Westminster park

New Westminster police are investigating a robbery that took place last week in Moody Park, prompting an appeal for public assistance in identifying three suspects. Officers arrived at the lacrosse rink shortly after 5:20 p. m. to assist two victims who reported being confronted by a group of young men. One suspect punched a victim in the face and stole cash from his wallet.

The suspects are described as around 18 years old; one wore a red sweatshirt, another donned blue jeans, and the third rode a black electric scooter while wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a yellow puffer vest. Authorities searched the area but did not locate the suspects. The NWPD emphasizes the importance of community involvement in resolving such incidents. Anyone with information or relevant CCTV footage is encouraged to contact the police department.
