MLA Mike Farnworth confirmed the government is acting urgently to restore educational facilities for affected students. Mayor Brad West expressed pride in the community's response, highlighting their efforts to support those impacted by the tragedy.

However, parent Karen Polano criticized the lengthy delay, stating it should have been resolved more quickly. The province plans to construct a new 240-seat school on the former site, with construction commencing in July 2026 and a total cost of $39 million. Completion is expected by December 2027. West assured that the city will expedite necessary permits to speed up the process. This rebuilding initiative aims to alleviate the uncertainty faced by families and restore normalcy in the community.
