Vancouver, BCLocal News

Metro Vancouver Transit Police arrested Pierry Philogène, one of Canada’s 25 Most Wanted, on Tuesday night after a brief foot chase. He has been at large since late 2021, connected to the premeditated murder of Charles-Olivier Boucher Savard in Montreal. The Montreal Police issued a search warrant for Philogène, who was eventually located by the MVTP's Crime Suppression Team. Upon his arrest, he was found carrying a fake ID, leading to charges for obstruction of a peace officer and possession of identity documents without lawful excuse. Constable Amanda Steed emphasized the importance of community safety in their operations.

The MVTP aims to ensure not just transit safety but also broader public security. Philogène's capture reflects the ongoing commitment of law enforcement agencies to apprehend wanted fugitives. His case highlights the collaboration between different police forces in Canada.
