Vancouver police say Yaletown stabbings suspect arrested

Vancouver police arrested a 35-year-old woman in connection with a series of violent stabbings in the Yaletown neighborhood on Friday morning. Officers were dispatched to David Lam Park after reports of multiple stabbings, where they found three victims with non-life-threatening injuries. Since then, four additional individuals have come forward, including another stabbing victim and others who suffered physical assaults. In total, seven victims, comprised of five men and two women aged between 23 and 59, reported incidents to the police. Witness Mike Conway described a harrowing encounter with the suspect, stating she swung a knife at him as he walked along the seawall.

The Vancouver Police Department released images of the suspect, who is described as being between 5’3″ and 5’7″ tall with a slim build and long dark hair. Police urge anyone with further information to come forward as they continue their investigation into the violent attacks. Such incidents raise concerns about safety in public spaces, prompting police to reinforce community outreach efforts.
