As the Nov. 5 general election nears, Jefferson County is gearing up for early in-person absentee voting, set to start at 8 a. m. on Tuesday. Bob Gale, the director of the Jefferson County Board of Elections, stated that his office will also begin mailing absentee ballots to voters who have requested them on the same day.
