GFWC Wintersville Womans Club Discusses Fundraising and Scholarships

The GFWC Wintersville Woman’s Club convened on April 17 to discuss various initiatives aimed at supporting community efforts and club members. President Cheryl Taylor expressed gratitude to the fundraising committee and urged contributions to a breast cancer basket and a memorial jar. Recording Secretary Mary Beth Allan introduced guest Maureen Giandomenico, and members shared nostalgic dessert memories from their mothers. Treasurer Karen Hill reported a club balance of $13,975 and emphasized the importance of submitting dues by May 31. Scholarship Chairman Claudia Dorich noted five applications from high school seniors, with finalists set to be recognized at the next meeting.

The club will feature Marti Leake as a guest speaker to address membership and leadership topics. Following the resignation of Vice President Karen Josefczyk, the nominating committee will seek her replacement. The meeting also covered preparations for the Holiday Splendor event, highlighting the need for early donations and volunteer involvement.
