Franciscan University of Steubenville marked a significant milestone by graduating a record 907 students in the Class of 2025 at Finnegan Fieldhouse. The graduation festivities started with a Baccalaureate Mass led by Bishop Andrew Cozzens, who received an honorary doctorate for his contributions to catechetics and evangelization. Cozzens called on graduates to surrender fully to Jesus, highlighting that resistance to Him can lead to spiritual death. Mary Rice Hasson, who received an honorary doctorate alongside her husband, delivered the commencement address, challenging graduates to engage with the cultural crisis surrounding identity. She described the prevailing ideology as a dominant force that graduates must confront.

University President Rev. Dave Pivonka concluded the ceremony by encouraging graduates to share their faith and values in a world that desperately needs them. This graduation not only celebrates academic achievement but also emphasizes the role of faith in navigating contemporary challenges. The event underscores the university's commitment to fostering a vibrant, faith-filled community poised to impact society.
