John Gregg students benefit from incentives
John Gregg Elementary School has introduced an incentive program designed to reward students for their academic and behavioral improvements. Principal Tammy Burchfield highlighted that students earn Burchfield Bucks for achievements like perfect attendance and high scores on state tests. These bucks can be exchanged for items in the Spirit Corner store, operated by the school PTO. Additionally, the Shout Out Board recognizes students for exhibiting positive behavior, with teachers nominating students for small rewards. Burchfield reported a noticeable increase in both academic performance and positive behavior since the program's inception.
The initiative aims to create a supportive environment that promotes proficiency in reading, math, and collaborative skills. Burchfield emphasized the program's success, stating that as students progress through grade levels, improvements are evident. Overall, the incentive plan prepares students for future academic challenges and success.
