Outdoor skating rink set to return

The Rink at Franciscan Square will open for public ice skating at 4 p. m. on Friday, inviting residents of the Tri-State Area to partake in festive winter activities. Skating will be available from 3 p. m.

to 9 p. m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with extended hours on weekends; admission is $8 for adults and $7 for children. New offerings this year include free hockey clinics for children beginning on Nov. 29 and expanded pond hockey sessions for teens and adults.

The rink, established as a permanent outdoor facility in 2023, serves as a community outreach by Franciscan University of Steubenville and is supported by local sponsors. Guests can also enjoy food from nearby eateries and take advantage of party packages or private rink rentals. The Igloo, sponsored by The Steubenville Nutcracker Village, provides a sheltered area for non-skaters.
