Wellsburg Christmas parade festivities moving and growing

Toronto, OHLocal News

The Wellsburg Christmas parade will occur at 10 a. m. on November 22, transitioning from its traditional evening schedule. This year, the event is organized by the Brooke County Area Chamber of Commerce, a merger of the Wellsburg and Follansbee chambers. Chamber President Eric Fithyan highlighted that the new timing has attracted more sponsors and participation from local groups.

The parade will include performances by marching bands from Brooke and Weir high schools, along with seven professionally produced floats. Following the parade, the Christmas Market will feature activities for children and vendors selling holiday merchandise on the Town Square. This year's theme, “Welcome Home for the Holidays: A Salute to Our Local Veterans,” emphasizes community appreciation for military service. Trinity Health System sponsors the parade, while TEAM Ford Wellsburg will provide vehicles for celebrity participants. Those interested in joining the parade can contact Fithyan by the upcoming Monday.
