Honor America event set at SHS

Ralph Petrella, a Steubenville High School graduate, will lead the annual Honor America festivities at SHS this Friday. The SHS Key Club organizes the event, starting with breakfast at 9 a. m. and a public assembly at 10 a. m.

Key Club adviser Ross Ivkovich noted the event will feature an eighth-grade essay winner and performances from the high school band. Petrella, who was an active Key Club member and athlete during his time at SHS, is also a candidate for mayor in the upcoming election on Nov. 4. The program includes various speakers and musical presentations, showcasing the talents of the students and honoring local community figures. Honor America activities recognize individuals who have significantly impacted the county, with past guests including judges and congressional representatives.

Petrella's commitment to perseverance and community service has influenced his decision to run for mayor, emphasizing his dedication to local leadership.
