Buckeyes have running game questions

Toronto, OHSports

Ohio State's defense led the way in a decisive 34-0 victory over Wisconsin, keeping the Buckeyes undefeated at 7-0. Quarterback Julian Sayin stood out, completing 36 of 42 passes for 393 yards and four touchdowns. However, the running game raised concerns as the team rushed for only 98 yards, with freshman Isaiah West as the leading rusher at 55 yards. This performance marked the second instance this season of the Buckeyes rushing for under 100 yards. Coach Ryan Day expressed the need for improvement in the run game, acknowledging that some issues stem from positioning players effectively.

The offensive strategy focused on passing, allowing Sayin to establish rhythm and confidence. Ohio State's defense also played a critical role, achieving its second shutout of the season. Day praised the defense’s hard work and commitment to excellence.
