Weirton sets Fall Clean Up

Toronto, OHLocal News

The City of Weirton has scheduled its annual Fall Clean Up for October 6-10, focusing exclusively on current sanitation customers. During this period, residents must place household goods curbside by 7 a. m. on their regular garbage collection day. Items such as construction materials, vehicle tires, and hazardous waste will not be collected.

Additionally, a separate metal items collection will occur on October 2-3 for larger appliances like stoves and refrigerators. City officials will enforce an ordinance prohibiting scavenging of curbside items, with fines ranging from $5 to $500 and possible imprisonment for repeat offenders. This initiative reflects the city's ongoing commitment to community cleanliness and safety. The Fall Clean Up not only assists residents in decluttering but also promotes responsible waste disposal practices. By limiting acceptable items, the city aims to streamline the collection process and reduce environmental hazards.
