JVS welcomes new and returning students

The Jefferson County Vocational School welcomed 438 students during its orientation on August 19, gearing up for the school year. Superintendent Ted Gorman and Principal Heather Hoover expressed their excitement about the new academic year and the school's strong teaching staff. Students received orientation checklists, toured classrooms, and met their teachers in preparation for classes. Juniors started classes on August 20, followed by seniors on August 21. Students like Addy Degarmo in early childhood education and Gage Applegarth in welding shared their enthusiasm for the upcoming year.

Madison Krzys, inspired by family ties, looks forward to her future in cosmetology. Gorman highlighted the school's 50th anniversary, making this year particularly special. Plans are underway for an open house to invite back alumni, fostering community connections.
